Instagram was originally created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in San Fancisco in October of 2010. Blah Blah Blah…Interesting fact! In January 2011 hashtags were added. Along with the help of Twitter the hashtag madness grew even more out of control…#you #know #those #sentences #where #every #word #except one #is #hashtagged…yeah, those. Blah Blah, created an updated version, blah blah, raised money, ergo increased the value of Instagram, which led to Facebook wanting to purchase the company (with its 13 employees at the time).
On September 6, 2012, Instagram officially belonged to Facebook…for a WHOPPING $1 billion (in cash might i add).
As of right now, Instagram is only available on Apple Products and Android products. There are no current plans to expand the greatness of Instagram on to the Blackberry Users. But let’s be honest, that’s what you get for being a Blackberry user!
